- Once you’ve completed the Empowered Pet Parent Course and booked your consult, here’s what you can look forward to:
- A thorough review of your pet’s history and medical records, ensuring no important details are overlooked.
- Actionable steps to implement the foundations you learned in the Empowered Pet Parent Course.
- Laboratory testing (if needed) and interpretation of results, with an action plan based on those results.(Cost of laboratory test is not included in the consultation fee)
- Consultation with your primary DVM, if appropriate, for coordinated care.
- Membership to the monthly Beyond The Bowl Series, live, interactive education sessions covering advanced holistic pet care topics.
- An invite to the P3 Community, a private community where Dr. Siegel provides ongoing Q&A, case discussions, product recommendations, and access to exclusive resources.

Consults are $255 per hour and conducted online. You will be charged for the time needed to review the history and records, the actual time on the call with Dr. Siegel and the time after the call to create a written plan of action.
This fee includes:
- Time for Dr. Siegel to thoroughly review your pet’s history and medical records prior to the session
- The time on the call with Dr. Siegell.
- Time after the session to finalize and refine your protocol
- A personalized written report following the consultation with key takeaways, recommendations, and next steps

While online consultations are incredibly effective for education, protocol planning, and case reviews, there’s no substitute for physical touch. Hands-on exams and in-person diagnostics offer a level of insight that digital care simply can’t match.

Terms: What Florida Law (PETS Act, HB 849) Allows & Restricts
Law Overview
Effective July 1, 2024, Florida’s Providing Equity in Telehealth Services Act (HB 849) permits licensed Florida veterinarians to offer veterinary telehealth services, including establishing a VCPR via live video.
What Can Be Done
- Establish VCPR via synchronous audiovisual call (e.g. Zoom or Skype — not phone call or text).
- Provide diagnoses, consults, treatment plans, and issue prescriptions based on that virtual VCPR.
- Prescribe:
- Up to 30-day supply of flea/tick treatments.
- Up to 14 days of other FDA-approved animal drugs, e.g. antibiotics — for pets not requiring in-person exam yet.
- Offer initial consultations to pets located outside Florida, as long as the consultation is provided by a Florida-licensed veterinarian during the live call (jurisdiction applies if practitioner or patient is in FL).
What Can’t Be Done
- Prescribe controlled substances (e.g. narcotics).
- Prescribe compounded drugs, extra label antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, parasitic medications without an in-person physical exam or timely on-site visit.
- Renew prescriptions beyond the allowed period without an in-person exam (e.g. >14 days antibiotics or >30 days flea/tick meds).
- Issue interstate or international health/travel certificates via telehealth.
- Establish VCPR or evaluate a case using audio-only communication, chatbots, questionnaires, or text messages — full audiovisual visits are required.
